I was born and raised in New York City and came to Hawaii in 1985. After several years at the utility companies, I ventured into the mortgage world during my first purchase of a home. Even today it always amazes me how people get into this line of work as no one goes to school for this!

I have worked now for over 30 years in the business here in Hawaii and have worked as an Independent Mortgage Broker, owned my own Mortgage Broker company for 11 years (Mortgage Connections Inc.), worked for a local Bank, and worked for several Mortgage Banks as a Loan Originator, Sales Manager, and Branch Manager. My career has gone full circle as I have now returned back to my original roots as an Independent Mortgage Broker.

Mortgage Brokers have several advantages, in that we can access dozens of Lenders and there is a greater degree of control over the loan process, all of which results in a better situation for borrowers. And with no disrespect to anyone, I find that “Locals Helping Locals” is an attitude that only those in Hawaii understand.
